The missed collections are despite Calderdale Council agreeing this year to pay an extra £450,000 to the waste collection contractor, over 3 years. For what?
Collections are still being missed across the Borough.
We, the undersigned, call on the Labour-led Calderdale Council to immediately address our missed recycling collections. We need solutions, not a sticking plaster at the taxpayers' expense.
Residents deserve a reliable recycling service. We ask Calderdale Councillors:
- To properly scrutinise the waste contractor’s performance and collection systems on recycling collections.
- To improve collection of waste from missed properties before the next collection day.
We also ask:
- For the Council to provide targeted compensation to residents suffering repeated missed collections, to be recovered from the waste collection contractor.
