Petition: Stop the demolition of Halifax Swimming Baths

The Council has shelved the construction of the new Leisure Centre at North Bridge. Halifax is now left without any leisure facilities, including no swimming pool. We need to keep our options open, and stop the demolition of Halifax Swimming Baths. 

We the undersigned, call on Labour-run Calderdale Council to immediately stop the demolition of Halifax Swimming Baths. 

If the Council cannot afford to build a new leisure centre at North Bridge, we need to consider all options, especially the renovation of the Halifax Swimming Baths.

Residents in Halifax deserve access to leisure facilities. We ask Calderdale Council to: 

• Stop the demolition of Halifax Swimming Baths
• Undertake a full review of leisure provision in Calderdale, and consider other options for delivery, including the full renovation of Halifax Swimming Baths.
