Penny Hutchinson has been selected to stand in Town Ward, at the upcoming local elections.
Penny has a six-point plan to deliver on your priorities:
- Investment in roads and fixing potholes. The roads around Town Ward are a disgrace. Aside from being dangerous, we know that cars are being damaged. We have a plan to fix thousands more additional potholes every year.
- Clamping down on fly-tipping. Fly-tipping is now out of control, with every available space being targeted. Our strategy will improve enforcement by deploying more cameras. We need to review how waste is disposed of and eradicate any excuses for fly-tipping.
- Keeping our area clean and tidy. Our pavements and paths are not safe, and often impassable. We will recruit two additional maintenance teams to keep our area tidy and streets clean. They will also clean up litter, fly-tipping and graffiti.
- Levelling-up left behind communities. The Conservative Budget includes a £2 million community fund to improve community amenities and tackle anti-social behaviour. We want residents to feel proud of their communities and feel safe when walking around their area.
- Scrapping car parking charges. I started a petition to reverse the Labour-run Council's decision to extend parking charges to 8pm. We gathered over 2000 signatures with huge support from local businesses. Labour have refused to reverse the policy. We will scrap the extension.
- New bus and train stations for Halifax. Halifax is set to benefit from the record investment in our transport network. The Conservative Government is building brand new bus and rail stations which will improve connectivity and enhance our passenger experience.
If you live in Town Ward including Bank Top, Boothtown, Exley, Siddal, Southowram and the Town Centre - Vote for Penny Hutchinson on Thursday 5 May.
