I enjoyed all the praise for our region on Yorkshire Day last week. In this article, I wanted to continue with the positives. Unfortunately, Labour-run Calderdale Council is making life harder for residents – and the Conservative Group is not happy about it.
Last week, Conservative Councillors attended the first full Council meeting since the Local Elections. The meeting’s agenda was short by previous standards, but the meeting offered much, with both the Conservative and Labour Groups submitting motions.
Recently, the Labour-run Council announced that work should soon restart on the new North Bridge Leisure Centre after Conservative volunteer Penny Hutchinson quizzed the Labour Cabinet for their lack of communication.
The recent publication of the Review of Parking Charges by Labour-run Calderdale Council once again confirms that the Labour leadership lacks the basic business principles and economic knowledge vital for successfully curating policies to ensure the well-being and prosperity of residents and bus
